Without thinking about it already being October, I've already watched 4 horror films. I've been stuck on the couch the past few days, because I just got my wisdom teeth pulled. I watched; The Fog, Jeepers Creepers, April Fool's Day and Near Dark. It should be no problem to find 9 more to watch, I bought the Sleepaway Camp set, but already watched the 1st one in Sept. I'll be seeing Red Dragon and The Ring like everybody else. I also think it's time to watch The Blair Witch Project again, I haven't seen it since the day it was released. That leaves 4 more, no problem. I love horror movies, it being near Halloween only gives me more excuses to watch them.

Here are my 13 new discoveries that will complete my challenge:
Shadow of the Vampire (2000)
Kwaidan (1965)
Carnival of Souls (1962)
Night of the Demon (1957)
Fiend Without a Face (1958)
The Old Dark House (1932)
White Zombie (1932)
The Wicker Man (1973)*
Cube (1998)
Black Christmas (1974)
The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974)
The Vanishing (1988)
Angel Heart (1987)
Most of these are movies I've been meaning to see, and this challenge just gives me the motivation to do so. Also there are some recommendations here from SteveGon. And a big thanks to him for his help.
* I just got finished watching this gem. What a movie. I've heard that it was great, but just never got around to seeing it. Damn. A creepy tale on a religious scale, I can see how it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I found it to be superb. :star::star: :star: :star:

Frankenstien I hadn't watched it since October 2000.
My fav line..."Here I come". Fritz is the freakiest thing in the whole film and that line just makes him sound weirder.

My Little Eye in the cinema today.
This is the first time I've covered my eyes with my hands as an adult cinema-goer. I felt sick on the way out. Really shook me up. (the last time I covered my eyes was in Event Horizon but I wasn't technically an adult when that came out.)

I picked up the Carnosaur 3-pack for a song, so my plan is to watch 'em all (I'm halfway into Part 1 right now) and then hawk the set on eBay. (Don't yell at me for buying a Full Frame set! I bought it to sell!) ;) This set seems like stat-padding, since none of the movies run over 90 minutes. Nice gore so far though!
Also, the more I think about it the less Red Dragon seems like a horror movie. Thoughts?
My list so far:
From Hell
The Initiation
Office Killer
Friday the 13th
The Devil's Backbone
Sleepaway Camp 2
Red Dragon
From Dusk Till Dawn

Just got finished with a double header.
White Zombie (1932):
While I admit to having the after dinner sleepies during this flick, I can't say I liked it as much as my pal SteveGon. While there are some good scenes, most just didn't reach out and grab me. The story was good, but felt a bit compacted. Perhaps a second viewing might help. This edition had no subtitles, and I had quite a hard time understanding much of the dialog. That never helps my enjoyment of a movie. Overall, :star: :star: and 1/2
For the second feature, I went with:
Night of the Demon (1957)
This one got me into big time right from the start. A great opening sequence, followed by a strong story. The ending was classic. I thought Niall MacGinnis was great as Karswell. I was quite surprised to see him portrayed as the bad guy, and yet throwing parties for the neighborhood children. A wonderful character and a superb performance. I definitely recommend this one. :star: :star: :star: and 1/2

I saw RED DRAGON last night, and loved it! I will post more thoughts on it later when I have more time. I will be getting around to viewing a lot more starting tonight.

I liked White Zombie mainly for the eerie atmosphere. The audio on the DVD is a little hard to make out, but keep in mind that the film is 70 years old and low-budget at that. You're right, it isn't the greatest, but it's definitely worth a look for fans of Bela Lugosi and old horror movies.

Finally watched that damn Se7en SE DVD that I'd only toyed with up to now.
I hadn't watched that film in probably 2 years at least, due to the nature of it. Still freaking great of course. It's really cool to note that one of the main characters in the film is the city itself, which goes unnamed of course (has to be intentional). The entire film reinforces the city as a "thing" and an evil thing at that. I always felt that in the end the city had beaten...well, you know who if you've seen it.
That's 2 (and I watched the Frank. documentary on that DVD).

Evil Dead
Evil Dead II
Bad Taste
Suspiria
Opera
Se7en
Red Dragon
Nightmare on Elm Street 1-7
Jason X*
From Hell*
Night of the Living Dead*
Return of the Living Dead*
Day of the Dead*
Sleepaway Camp 1-3*
Last House on the Left*

and of course some of those "random" movies that I either A) see on TV or B) catch my eye in the store :)
Watched 3 scary movies this weekend... the first being Se7en, one of my favorites of all time.
The second was Sleepaway Camp... which lived up to it's name... CAMPY :D
The third was Red Dragon and this is what I will say... better than Hannibal but not quite up to Lambs :)
3 down... 28 to go :)

I watched Fiend Without a Face (1958) tonight. While I'm sure at it's time it was quite creepy, I couldn't help but find myself laughing throughout this one. The "fiends" were a clever idea, but the actual creatures were quite comical. I laughed every single time one of them was killed and made their death "shudders." I really found nothing much special about the formula on this one, and the execution was par for the course. All in all, it was quite enjoyable, but nothing spectacular.
