The first attempt at a "Barefoot In The Park" pilot was aired as an episode of "Love American Style" in the first season, the episodes that are already on DVD.

Anybody else think these "items" might show up on youtube some day. I'm surprised about WHAT has come out. Segments of ABC's 25th Anniversay Gala was shown, which featured a Batman (the Adam West version) tribute was on that website. Other strange stuff has shown up as well.

Fun to watch, but cringe worthy as well.

Other specials included the CBS 50th Anniversay Special which had loads, and I mean loads of guest stars. Had some great history there.

Going back to this topic, I was wondering if someone might have some "guestimates" on what are the chances that some oddities might ever come "out"?

I know that these one -time showing of the Fall Saturday Morning Specials, the chances are negligible, but still I know some strange stuff winds up in the hands of collectors, and you never know what some of the family members of some of the stars, writers, producers might hang unto and show up later on.

Maybe something will show up in somebody's actics someday.

I still hope that they might show up on youtube.com. Goodness knows, ONE Sat AM Fall preview has shown up. Now if others can show up, along with more Saturday AM Commercials.

Any other comments?

Another one I thought of that might be kinda cool would be including RICHIE BROCKELMAN PRIVATE EYE in a series boxed set of ROCKFORD FILES. I don't know how many episodes there were of RBPI but I can imagine that there were too many.

What I would like to see ...

* Lucy in London - a Lucy special that aired during the 1966-1967 season ... this special could be viewed as part 2 of the "Lucy Goes to London" episode of The Lucy Show. Anyhow I have yet to see this one.
* Life with Lucy - this would be a nice addition to complete Lucille Ball's television career on DVD
* The Brady Brides - This was an absolute favorite. I enjoyed this just as much as the original if not more
* The Bradys - another spin-off of The Brady Bunch
* Checkin 'In - The only Jeffersons spin-off which lasted for about only 4 episodes
* Three's a Crowd - Another season of Three's Company basically under a different name
* The Ropers - spin-off of Three's Company
* The Golden Palace - Another season of Golden Girls basically under a different name
* Sanford/Sanford Arms/Grady - three spin-offs of the hugely successful, Sanford and Son
* Mayberry R.F.D. - three more seasons of The Andy Griffith Show under a different name
* Any TV Land special or series that focused on Classic TV (i.e. Inside TV Land, ET in TV Land, TV Land Moguls, The Alan Brady Show, TV Land Awards, TV Land's Top 10, ALF's Hit Talk Show, ect.)

Mr. Mooney, if they don't include that on the 5th Season set of "The Lucy Show," I'll be very surprised. (After all, they included her "Mr. and Mrs." special with Bob Hope on the 2d Season set. And, as you pointed out, it really should be considered part of the series, because the episode the preceding week built up to it. Also, there were only 22 episodes that season, which implies the special should be counted as two episodes to equal the 24 of Season 6, and all six seasons of "Here's Lucy.")

However, don't get too excited over it. I recall it being pretty bad. Lucy's version of London in the Mod Swingin' '60s was goofy enough even when it was current -- it must seem even goofier now.

They should include the "Lucy in London" special on the 5th season set as it goes along w/an actual episode of the series. Plus, adding this feature would make the 5th season set attractive to the Lucy fan or collector. It is a good marketing plan, I think.

Yeah, I have wondered from time to time why the 5th season came up short compared to the 4th and 6th seasons of The Lucy Show and all of Here's Lucy. Just think those two episodes could have been two more additional appearances of Vivian Vance. They could have done a two-part episode where Lucy flies back to Connecticut to visit with Viv, Sherman, and her husband. Sigh.

Well, if "Lucy in London" is music-oriented then I probably would not care too much for it.

I think Paramount should release "Brady Brides" and "The Bradys" together as a sort of "season 6" boxed set.

"The Colbys..." god, I wanna see this again badly. But CBS/Paramount's going through hell just getting Dynasty itself out in a timely manner. Sheesh!

I want all of Mr. Mooney's suggestions, so I won't repeat them here. But I also have to toss my name in the hat for wanting to see "Checking In" released as part of an upcoming Jeffersons set. Maybe Shout! will get the Jeffersons soon, eh?

And...

Angie
Phyllis

and all the other junk I usually nag about...

I would love to see The Brady Brides again, as long as they include the TV movie that started the series (BTW, that movie was the last time the entire cast was together onscreen!)

I'm surprised no one mentioned Just The Ten of Us, the Growing Pains spinoff. Despite high ratings, it was cancelled after 39 episodes because of a programming mishap at ABC regarding its TGIF lineup, a move some ABC execs later publicly regretted. I have a feeling it may be ideal for a Warner Archive release.

Regarding the 1966 Lucy special, The Dave Clark Five and Anthony Newley were in it, and you've got to see the crazy opening musical number which was written, produced, and sung by Phil Spector!!!!

One oddity I'd love to see again would be 3 Girls 3, a summer variety series from the mid 70s on NBC that starred Debbie Allen, Mimi Kennedy, and Ellen Foley. All went on to major TV hits: Allen with Fame, Kennedy with Dharma & Greg, and Foley with Night Court. I loved seeing that show (anyone else remember it?) and would love to see it again.

I have been surprised that both Brady Brides and the Bradys haven't seen full release by now. The original show sold pretty well so I thought the continuation with these two shows would have been a given.

But I also thought the same thing of Sanford, the Redd Foxx follow up to Sanford & Son and that hasn't happened yet either.

I have no interest in "Maude" but I'd only want those episodes and the short-lived "Busting Loose" to get more on DVD featuring one of the most beautiful ladies of 70s TV, Barbara Rhoades.
That would be great to get the version with Maude elected to congress, the next version with John Amos, called Onward and Upward, then after he quit, it became Mr. Dugan with Cleavon Little. They must have shot at least several of those as it was on the schedule and yanked at the last minute. I even have a show from a few days earlier with a commercial promo for it. Then finally the version that aired for 4 episodes with Bill Macy, and also co-starring the gorgeous Barbara Rhoades. Agree also on Busting Loose. Terrible show but Barbara Rhoades playing a next door neighbor who's an escort. Worth it for that alone.

For a moment I thought you were talking about the Canadian sitcom Hangin' In! Now that's one show I'd love to see on DVD!

I'm happy with my off-air copies of all of the above shows. I didn't do Sanford when it aired by around 1991, BET ran that and Sanford Arms, both complete and uncut.

I always thought that fans of the the Sherwood Schwartz shows (The Brady Bunch, Gilligans's Island) would be eager to try out his other programs such as It's about Time, The Brady Brides, The Bradys, The Brady Kids, etc, and even try some of the other series where Bob Denver starred in: Dusty's Trail, Far Out Space Nuts, etc.

Whoops! Forgot about the two animated versions of Gilligans Island.

Now here's two shows I'd like to see commercial release of: "Dusty's trail" (even if there's an almost complete series available with 17 episodes on 2 discs) and "It's about time" ( a very funny show who had two different set-ups, the first one being two astronauts finding themselves in a prehistoric setting and the second one being a caveman's family living in a 20th century's city)
