New HTiB Denon question (1 Viewer)

Ok, so I just purchased the Denon DHT-1513BA receiver with the Boston Acoustics speaker system and got home and dug into it right away. I connected my UVerse by HDMI into the TV input, my Philips DVD player by HDMI into the Blu-ray input. I love how it looks and how it sounds....sort of...
The sound coming out is great my issue is that I have to crank it to 60-70 just to get to a decent audio level. Does anyone know where or what my problem is? Is this something in the receiver or possibly UVerse issue?
I appreciate any help if someone might have any insight into this issue.

On "receiver of yore" to now...
1 does not equal 10
2 does not equal 20
and so on.
If there is a setting for Relative instead of Absolute...Change it.
I have the Onkyo TX SR707 and frequently watch TV(during the day) at -30 to -25. But I like it loud. My speakers are much more efficient than these BA Horizon as well.

By the way, just checked...with "my settings"...
-30 relative equals 52.5 absolute.
But my speakers are 93db efficient.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I will check to see if I have that setting.
I had an older system and the sound never went beyond 15-20 before it got so loud. That is why I am wondering if there is a setting. Because to crank it all the way to almost maxed out seems kind of odd.

There are other things as well...
Room size?
Speaker placement?
Room furnishings(carpet/bare wood)?
The receiver only chews 330 watts off the wall...
Remove 50 watts for "AV processing"...
You are left with 55-ish watts per channel...
At "60" relative, you are asking for basically half of that power. 25 watts into those speakers achieves roughly 97 db at 3 feet.
If you have a large room, 97db by the time it reaches "seating position" of 9 feet falls to roughly 91db.
