Actually I just found out the deal varies by location.

$24.99/10 rentals
$29.99/10 rentals
$29.99/5 rentals
$32.99/7 rentals

Are a few examples I've heard of.

Also the Blockbuster computer system has a listing for a 7-week Pirates card @ $26.99, so that could be a possibility for after Nemo.

For my area, (San Jose, CA) after polling the three around my house, they were all $29.99/7 rentals. I'll pass on this one and hope for Nemo to come in at about $12-13 at B&Ms.

I think he meant Spider-Man.

Blockbuster also did rental cards on:

Shrek
Fellowship of the Ring
Monsters, Inc.
Spider-Man
How to Lose a Guy
Two Towers

FOTR and Spider-Man were really good deals, and those rentals counted toward your free rentals. I didn't do any of the others b/c of either not being interested in the titles or the lame scaling back of the deals.

$29.99 for 7 Rentals in my area.

No deal.

I was on the fence at $29/10.

I'll remember the good old days ($25/10) very fondly.

$29.99 for 7 rentals isn't really that bad.

Assuming that you will, in fact, rent all 7 movies, at a total cost of $3.98, that works out to $27.86. Which gives you a copy of Finding Nemo for just a few dollars.

Yes, but the 10 was much better. The way I looked at it was 10 reduced price rentals, (let's say the 29.99/10 card), with tax each rental came to $3.17. And then I got Spider-Man for free. And even better when it was 24.99/10, like FOTR, $2.65 per rental, tax included, and FOTR for free.

Well that makes it an even better value! :)

And John, I agree that 10 was much better. But Blockbuster started with a 10 rental card, then went to a 5 rental card. Perhaps they found that 10 was too much of a loss for them, and not enough people bought a 5 rent card, so they are experimenting with a number in between. I dunno... As usual, your mileage may vary.

Not really. If you consider their over priced rental fee, then it might make a good deal but I'm a heavy Netflix renter and at ~$1.50 a rental (plus choice and widescreen) Blockbuster can't compete.

If they want my business, they need to do much better than $29/7.

What infuriates me more, they offer better deals at different Blockbuster. Just offer the same deal everywhere!

I'll pick up Nemo for $15 and stay happy with Netflix.

Netflix is a lot of fun...

You can rent so many different things... Tv box sets, older movies, etc. that you cant even find at a local video store...

I think the deal is a good one IF they would allow you to rent the movies whenever you wanted - say 7 rentals within 7 weeks.

I find myself, due to work and family, not able to use about half of the weeks. On the other hand, there are weekends when I would watch three movies.
