I have to say that overall I'm pretty pleased with Amazon. It's where I bought my first HD player last August, and with that special 10% off promo that runs thru 2007....man it's just hard to beat. Best prices too.

I am giving DVD Pacific a shot only due to the great price they have for The Fountain HD DVD.

At least thru the rest of this year, I'm giving my $$ to amazon. (Unless someone offers better prices AND shipping) :)

Another vote for DVDEmpire.

Good prices. Hundreds of DVD's ordered. 2 came with broken spindles, but I never tried to replace them. 1 came with the case badly cracked (Deep Space 9), again didn't try to replace. So, out of hundreds, 3 problems, I'm certain they would've adressed it if I'd asked.

Fast shipping, stuff arrives well packaged, very easy to use ordering system. Good all around.

I have been using DVDPlanet (= Digital Eyes) since 1997. More than 2200 DVDs ordered there. Prices are among the very best, especially with their extra discount through 'Frequent Buyers Points' and the regular Coupons.
Hardly had any problems, and all elegantly solved.

May I also draw the attention to our advertiser: LasersEdge? My orders with them have been less frequent (approx. 250 DVDs since 1999), but all those orders I did place there went excellent. They offer an extra discount for pre-orders.

My experiences with Amazon are first rate too, BTW.

I've been using DVDPlanet for years (formerly Digitaleyes) but their selection of BD/HD is a bit incomplete so I mainly buy just SD material (some BD/HD) through them now. Great customer service though.

Most of my HD/BD purchases go through Amazon.

Others I've used over the years that still exist (no HD/BD experience though):

DeepdiscountDVD - usually only on their 20% off sales, customer service stinks, and I'd always get at least 1 damaged/smashed case in my order.

DVDEmpire - used them exclusively for a while after Reel.com went away but they seemed to get a bit too pricey.

I've also used Buy.com and DVDPacific a couple times during sales. No problems from what I remember.

overstock.com. Limited stock but pretty good prices. I haven't used them in years but all the others I use are already listed here: deepdiscount, dvdplanet.

Nothing wrong with amazon.com. I also like their marketplace because they stand behind it. Much better alternative to ebay, which I've been screwed 4 times on. :frowning:

That's another go for DVDPacific! Although I've only purchased a couple HD DVD's through them. Their pricing for SD DVD's are top notch though.
I guess do some comparison pricing with some different sites and go for whatever's cheapest?
I'm going to buy CASINO ROYALE from them. Because they didn't have it in stock at the Circuit City near me. They had BLACK HAWK DOWN though! I'm still going to keep my 3-Disc Deluxe Edition DVD of BHD of course.
