need help finding a compact size VCR (1 Viewer)

I need to squeeze a VCR in a audio/video cabinet and only have 2 1/2" in height to spare. My current VCR is approx 4" and will not fit my shelf. Do they make compact sized VCR's?

Nope, VCRs are all 4" or so height, I think the tape transport can't be reduced further. Perhaps a combo VCR+DVD unit would fit if you removed your DVD player?
