Speaking of Tony acting goofy. Tony's poses in front of the bear with McGee taking photos had me rolling last night.

Great line last night...

Probie: "Oh, so you're a Star Wars junkie too"
Ziva: "Not exactly"
Tony: "She has a photographic memory probie, not a social disorder" :D

Abby and her new co-worker were cracking me up at times. Can you imagine showing up for your first day of work at a new department and having to watch adult-oriented fare with someone of the opposite sex.

Poor Abigail.... First she's saddled with a dress code and now with an uptight coworker.

I loved Ziva and Tony's reaction to the guy in his mother's basement telling them his mother thinks they were here for a job interview.

Interesting how Probie was right about the video in the first place.

Some classic NCIS moments last night...

Tony, when someone mentions all his research on internet porn subscriptions.
"I do a lot of work at home."

i think Ziva's fit right in, and the team chemistry, while slightly different, is still intact, and the thing that elevates this show above all the other procedurals on tv. it doesn't hurt that cote de pablo is rather easy on the eyes, but i like hger smart-ass sense of humor, and the fact that she has turned the tables a bit on tony, making him be the one uncomfortable.

also, her relationship with mcgee seems closer and friendlier than kate's, knitting the team together a bit more closely. she and abby may seem a bit on the outs, but i think that will change as the season progresses. the only thing i don't like is lauren holly; it just seems an unnecessary diversion from the rest of the team.

ziva's relationship with gibbs is excellent; their scene in the elevator a few episodes back was terrific.

Ziva's growing on me, but I still don't like her fit in the team. Ziva's very much a tomboy, while Kate always brought a feminine element to the team and there is zero tension anymore. Kate & Tony had a thing, a spark between them. Tony & Ziva is just Tony not wanting to be shown up or desperately trying to show her up. All of this has put McGee in a really weird, grown-up place. It's odd seeing him grow out of the wet-behind-the-ear sidekick to full-fledged team member and I miss the relationship spark that went on between Tim & Abby. Someone should start a petition to replace Ziva with Paula Cassidy! All that said, I did think Ziva had the best line this week:

"Americans love their porn"

P.S. I'm really glad they kept Palmer around... they shouldn't have scared us with that whole bogus 'Gerald is coming back to work' thing.

I was kind of shocked to see Michael Bellisario there, almost saddened. I hope it doesn't ruin the chances of any JAG crossovers, although he did appear in JAG as a fisherman's son and a pizza boy before he was Mikey.

I love Don Bellisario's shows (I worked on one of them) and his loyalty to his actors, but thrusting his son Michael onto us (and Abby) will lose this audience member from an adored show.

This season began strongly with the two-parter, and other than DiNozzo's irritating nonsense (if he calls McGee "probie" one more time, I'll scream), the show was steaming along just fine.

Enter the unappealing Michael Bellisario in shaven head and Hitler mustache. I'm sorry, he's not a good actor. And dumping him on Abbey ruins all her scenes.

I've stopped watching NCIS before they bring on Jeff Mackay or Larry Manetti.

I am just throwing this out for a discussion. Does anyone think this show has "jumped the shark". Tony's one-dimensional character is starting to get on my nerves.

Not me. Anyway, I'm not sure "starting to get on my nerves" is a jump-the-shark kind of thing. You need an actual event, something you can pinpoint. Otherwise, the show has simply "gone bad" or "become tiresome".

I do think that Ziva is butchering idioms on purpose, just to give Tony something to feel superior about.

Okay, maybe I was wrong about Ziva butchering the idioms for Tony's sake.

Enjoyed Gibbs's paternal instincts kicking in, and that last flash of Gibb with his daughter (assumption) working on his boat, leads to yet another slice of Gibbs' life we probably won't find out for a while.

Poor Chip, can't catch a break (not liking the character, anyway).

Tony has to have the worse bad guy "radar" in his interest in the opposite sex (I knew right off that's where it'd end up, then again, it seems like a motif of this show, as Gibbs and Ducky both also had to deal with women they were interested in in a way that closed out their cases). Plus, who can forget Tony's date with the tranny last season. Heh.

I realize that Tony's role in the show, in relation to his team mates, is to play the insufferable jerk. Trouble is he's also insufferable to this viewer. If only he had caught Kate's bullet.

Call me a liberal if you want, but the shows casual attitude towards torture disturbs me, Besides, Gibbs's methods (sort of in the grand tradition of cop shows-- Frank Pembleton was the master) are far more telegenic then any allusion to Ziva's off-screen 'skills".

As far as the "torture" scene, my wife said it spooked her the way the secretary jumped when Ziva barely touched her back. I wonder how much was psychological torture, and will we be given more insight as the series continues.
