But even if you watch it live, you'll miss the beginning of the shows if you follow the announced starting times.

What's odder is that NBC is one of the few (only?) networks who actively use the Tivo "Press Thumbs Up to record" function. During a show, when they show a promo for an upcoming show, that text comes up and gives you a "one click scheduling" function (if you click the Thumbs Up button, it will record the show that's being promo'd). Yet, if you decide to use that functionality, you won't get the show you wanted to see recorded properly!
