I've been searching for the U.S. laserdisc of this film
for several years, to no avail.

Now I see where a DVD is scheduled for release in
France later this month.

However, could somebody let me (a French-impaired
soul) know whether the French DVD release will
have English subs?

I too have been looking for this one since my tape with German dubbing gave up ages ago.
No subtitles is a bummer. Hopefully it will come out in other R2 countries soon.

Not that it helps you Dave, but I just got the Swedish DVD. It has subtitles in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish, so if one of those languages is yours you're in luck.
There are no extras but at least it's in widescreen and I got it for 49 kroner (around 8$).
