Hi Youssef, the mitsubishi has the ability to display 960i. This is another HD format of a little less resolution. So, if the TV display that resolution, that means the Xbox is sending a signal that is not 1080i, but 960i. You shouldn't worry about it, it's not a problem with your TV. Hope that helps.

I own a Xbox and if your Mitsubishi says 960i than you should make sure you've changed the display settings on your Xbox to output 1080i. If you haven't changed the display settings on the Xbox then it is sending out 480i and the HDTV is upconverting it to 960i. You can tell the Xbox whether your TV can receive 480p, 720p, and 1080i by changing the Xbox display settings. All HDTV's have to be able to display either 720p or 1080i and some manufacturers include the ability for 480i to be upconverted to 960i. Neither 540p nor 960i are formats used by HDTV and are only used for upconversion on CRT HDTV's. Many manufacturers include 960i which for me seems to be a useless feature since they can usually do 480p as well, which is better for 480i material.
