I am unable to provide any 'proof' direct from Sony. All I know is I tried ordering one from a reputable, nationwide electronics retailer, and was unable to get one, because their entire stock has been sent back to Sony due to this defect. I told them nothing about the 'fire' issue ahead of time.

I don't know why Ultimate Electronics would make this up and lose a sale, especially considering they has this receiver in their weekly ad two weeks ago.

Judge for yourself: Walk into one of these stores and try to buy one. You won't find one, because they've all been pulled and returned.

No, you don't get a sub output in 2 channel mode. If you want a sub put it in AFD and get 2 channels plus sub.
