Where's the fun in that? We won't have to eat each other to survive, or live in domed cities with euthanasia for everyone over thirty, or watch damned dirty apes take over the planet!

The Future: more of the boring same-o, same-o.

Remember the Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times".

In many ways, boring is fine with me.

I love watching star trek originals because it's funny how they try and show futuristic things but the characters still have ~60s social behavior. Ooooo there's a black woman, a scottish guy and one of those evil russian guys. I guess the world must be at peace in the future.
I also love how they do something that are just unacceptable today and don't talk about other things because they were acceptable in the 60s.
I remember an episode where they just wouldn't say sex even thought they were hinting all around it. I also remmeber another episode where Macoy starts smacking around this pregnant woman for no real reason. Sheesh.
The sex talk would be rated G/PG today while the smacking around of a pregnant woman wouldn't even be considered being done on tv.

If I remember, she was about to give birth, men from her tribe were hunting her down to kill her, and she had lost the will to live. What better time to slap some sense into her?
