    hey guys,

when mounting left/right surround speakers in your room, should it be mounted on the wall behind our couch or on the left/right side wall? Currently, mine is behind. Should I move it to the left/right side wall?

    Thanks.

Neil, it depends on how far your couch is from the rear wall. If it's only a couple feet, I'd mount them on the side walls.

In 5.1, considered optimal is on the sides I'm pretty of that.

Rear is not really considered wrong at all though.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I may have to rerun a new cable which is fun. [IMG] But since my yamaha supports 7.1, I can just retain the cabling to my rear wall and just add wires to both sidewalls.

That is the answer, just go 7.1 and be happy. [IMG]
