Put me down for The Young Ones.
Me too! MTV got me hooked on that one. I especially liked the episode "Flood", with it's mini-tribute to Narnia! :)

Duncan,
I knew about the R2 release, but my region free player (Phillips 711) won't do PAL. I'm not in the market for a converter at the moment either. I'm holding out hope that we'll be Yes Minister here in R1. Anyone know?

Any update on series 2 of League of Gentlemen on region1? I own series 1 on R1 and would like some consistency so have opted not to give in and buy the current region 2 release. Someone did say the R1 version was delayed due to the want to make it two disc. I hope that means it would include last years christmas special as the R2 does not.
Anyone know?

Re Rumpole - the pilot was actually made by the BBC but the series was made 100% by Thames IIRC - have never seen any indication that Granada made any of it - they do show it weekly on Granada Plus however.

There was a nice stop motion animated series of "The Wind in the Willows" by Cosgrove-Hall. Was this series made for the BBC or one of the British commercial channels? I would really like to see this series released on DVD. I have a soft spot for the "Willows" stories and the British adaptations have been the best I've seen. I like the mood of the British series much better than Disney's adaptation.

Dont think that Cosgrove Hall ever made anything for the BBC. Probably made for LWT or (more likely) Thames.
As for Blakes 7 - well there are supposed to be discs in the works, but not from the BBC -so the quality may not be as good as the Doctor Who discs.

That would be awesome to see the Young Ones released. I also got hooked on it when MTV was running them. I actually have all the episodes on VHS but DVD's would be most welcome.
Thx......Shawn

I haven't seen any of Cosgrove Hall's "Wind in the Willows" on DVD in the shops, but if you can stand the poorer quality then a VCD was released some years ago.
My local VCD specialist McNo is advertising a "Wind in the Willows" VCD for three pounds (about five dollars). I can't get onto the website at the moment to check it, but it's www.mcno.com

Oh what to do what to do....
I was going to get the initial R1 release of Father Ted season one until I heard the R2 had commentary. I've still not got the R2s but now Region 1 has the better offer for the second season offering all 10 episodes together instead of the con that is series 2 on R2 offering 5 episodes per disc at £20 for EACH disc (2nd part isnt even out yet).

Buy season one in R2 for the commentaries and season 2 in R1 for the value of more episodes for less $$$?

In addition to Perrin, I think one was called The Good Life that I'd buy, and another that I think had the stars of To the Manor Born, but they were secretly married co-workers or some such thing.
Perrin was a classic, no question. "The Good Life" was called "Good Neighbors" when I watched it. And the co-workers one starring Penelope Keith was called "Executive Stress"
But MY favorite was always "'Allo 'Allo", created by the "R U Being Served" team, about the misadventures of a French cafe owner who gets caught up in the resistance movement in WWII.

I would love to see Chris Morris' ultra-surreal Jam somewhere on DVD, but music rights and good taste may prevent this from happening...

As long as we're compiling a wish-list, how about:
The Brittas Empire
Chef!
Take A Letter, Mr. Jones (John Inman's post-"AYBS?" show)
And I'll chime in for Good Life, too.
I don't know that I'd buy entire sets of these, but if they were available I'd certainly pick up my favorite episodes at the very least. All hilariously funny.
In the end, if all I got were Doctor Who, Are You Being Served, and The Young Ones, I'd be hilariously happy. Oh, well...2 out of 3 ain't bad.
