Upgrading my 14 year old system. KLH 9005 sats, JVC RX6500 reciever. Recently replaced the KLH sub with a Yamaha 100 watt. Just order Polk Ausio R150 and CSR for my front, leaving two of the original KLH's for the rears. With some many preaching the vitrues of keeping everything the same timbre and whatever, should this work ok?. I'm on a budget and got the front stage for under $200 compared to a LOT more for a set.

It's not as important for the surrounds to match as it is for the front three, unless you listen to a lot of surround sound music like DVD-A or concert dvd's. But, we can only do what our budget allows.

I've had mismatched rears many times...and I listen to DVD-A/SACD. When your budget allows, match up the rears. But if you think the KLH rears don't make much difference in the overall effect...no reason to ever change them.
