This is weird, at the start of the week some work colleagues and myself came up with our list of 10 favorite Aussie films.

Seconds:

Strictly Ballroom
The Devil's Playground
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Nomations:

Chopper
The Dish
The Castle
Stone
Two Hands
Babe

and if it is eligible, Moulin Rouge!. Filmed in Australia, by an Australian crew, with mostly Australian actors. But funded by 20th Century Fox (which is owned by Murdoch :))

No, New Zealand films are not admissable. Not interested in the best Australian film coming down to Fellowship vs. Return of the King. ;)

I'll have to think on Moulin Rouge. Consider it in for now.

Thanks Bill, I've seen exactly ONE of the films you nominated. I've always meant to see The Year Of Living Dangerously and Breaker Morant and never gotten around to it.

I'll go ahead and add: Lantana, Babe, and Babe 2

I’ve actually seen quite a few, but I knew going in that there would be no point in nominating ones that were not much known here.

Unfortunately, I’ve not seen all of the well-known ones.
