I'm thrilled, however, that titles like "Romeo Is Bleeding" are making their way on DVD. I absolutely adore that film. And MGM's DVD product has been really solid lately. I wish I could say the same for their films!

THE NAME OF THE ROSE with Sean Connery.

They never released this one.

It was announced by Polygram a couple of years ago and then they sold the lot to MGM.

I asked them wether they would release it but all I got was a "Not at this time" reply.

So I am hoping they are releasing it in 2002.

NORTH is either Sony or WB (it was a Castle Rock production)

Well, bizarrely enough, MGM does own video rights to this. The way the early financing was done for the first couple years of Castle Rock's existence results in MGM possessing video rights to such Castle Rock films as CITY SLICKERS, MALICE, LATE FOR DINNER, and others.

Come to think of it, the Castle Rock title YEAR OF THE COMET (a/k/a A VERY GOOD YEAR) is one I'd love to see on DVD. It has never been released in director Peter Yates' intended Panavision ratio, and it's a rare original screenplay by the great William Goldman.

Do MGM still have Meet met in St Louis? I never got the LD SE release of this much to my dismay. The movie is special to me on a personal level (check who co-wrote it) and I'd love it, and countless others mentioned in above posts, on DVD. :frowning:

I believe "Meet Me in St. Louis" will be out in the next two years after undergoing some restoration work by Warner. The 60th Anniversary of it's theatrical run is 2004, but who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and it's release sooner.
