Licence to Kill's 2-disc Ultimate DVD release from a couple of years ago was one of the titles that had some problems... compared to the previous Special Edition release. I don't remember exactly what the issue was though. I know Live and Let Die had color issues on the UE that thankfully were corrected for the recent Blu-ray release.

Does anyone know if MGM or Lowry are fixing their UE mistakes on this title, or the framing issues in A View to a Kill and Goldeneye, or the coloring issues form the beginning of On Her Majesty's Secret Service?

Best Buy has these listed on their website for a 3/24 release as part of a special bundle package with Quantum of Solace. This looks like a Best Buy exclusive, but it's a way to get these two titles a couple of months earlier.

Was hoping to find these new James Bond Blu-rays at the same $19.95
price that Fry's was offering last October.

The best I have found thus far is $23.99 from Amazon.

I have preordered Wave #2 and Wave #3 at those prices which
    is not bad.

Yeah, $19.99 is my maximum for catalog Bonds too. I have yet to pull the trigger on Never Say Never Again because it is $23.99 on Amazon, which is too rich for my blood.

Amazon is selling the Bond Volume 3 package (Goldfinger, The World Is Not Enough, Moonraker) for $50, if you do not mind the packaging. That's $16.67 per movie.

Also, Amazon has a deal if you buy Quantum of Solace, they will give you money off other Bond titles. You can get QoS and the three other new Bonds for about $77. That's still less than $20 per film.

I feel bad for the people who purchased the three boxed sets. They're without a paddle for this new wave.

Only if you care a lot about the packaging. Personally, my main concern is with the films, not the box or case they come in. I watch the movies, not the packaging. Besides, Casino Royale is already a separate release that sits on the shelf next to my Volume 1 & 2 (and soon Vol. 3) boxes. That was the least expensive way to buy the films.

I may pick up the Best Buy collection with Quantum of Solace, The Man With the Golden Gun and License to Kill, and that will not match either the existing box sets or the single releases. However, it's a cost effective way to get the films, and get the latter two a couple of months early.

I agree with you. However, it certainly is an odd way for MGM to release the movies--some collected in a box set, and others as stand alone (the Craig-era notwithstanding, of course). I would like to read the justification of this odd decision.

I'd rather have the individual packaging.

I already own all of these (except for Quantum) on SD, and after Amazon spoiled me with their Black Friday deal, I can't see myself paying more than $10 for any of the newest waves - except maybe for Goldfinger.

So I guess I'm waiting for a sale that may never come. [IMG]

Licence to Kill and The man with the golden gun were released individually here in Finland together with Goldfinger, Moonraker and The world is not enough on March 6. I haven't bought them though because of their prohibitive price (32+ euros ~ 44 dollars apiece).

Then check out this deal from Amazon. You can get the four titles being released next week for around $78. That gets you under $20 per title.

If you are referring to Licence To Kill, give me some specifics and I'll take a look. In general terms, this new transfer looks damn good. Like the movie was shot yesterday. I have some minor issues with the sound mix, specifically, there are some effects sounds in the surrounds that are rather too loud relative to the front channels in the first shoot-out scene in the Bahamas. I haven't watched the entire movie yet, but that stuck out like a sore thumb.

Man, that is very very tempting to go and buy this boxset on Tuesday just to get LtK and MwtGG early along with QoS which I had planned to buy anyway. Well, I planned to purchase all of these so I might as well get this boxset and call it a day. Only downside is I lose the $7 off promotion that I currently have with buying QoS and Goldfinger at Amazon and who knows what type of packaging this boxset is. (Right now I have all individual cases, not the volumes)

I just looked at Best Buy's ad. They are also doing a promotion on the Bond films. Casino Royale CE is $19.99!! They also have the other Bond films for $24.99, however you save $10 on the purchase of any 2 titles.

Best Buy also has the exclusive Quantum set as mentioned before.

I cancelled my order on Amazon as I was only ordering a couple of them, but the Best Buy exclusive may have me.

My biggest hang up is the packaging on the box sets. I'd rather have the individual discs after seeing how they did the box sets. The Best Buy box looks a bit bigger, so maybe they are individual cases?? (fingers crossed)

At which point I'll have to decide what to get.

Does anyone have further information about the packaging on the Best Buy exclusive Quantum set (includes Quantum, Licence To Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun)????

As much as I would rather have the individual cases, I have to pinch some pennies this year. And when it comes to things like this-upgrades of things I already have serviceable copies of-I can't afford to be anal.
Best Buy also has $25 off if you buy both boxsets together. With NYS tax I can get the 6 movies for $17 each. I was going to try to wait for the DD sale (which will hopefully still come), but I don't see it besting that per title average cost by much, if at all.

Of course, it was only about a month after the first wave streeted that Amazon had a sale where the per title average was under $10. And that was for the individual releases no less.
