Right now I'm using Media Player 8 and am wondering if I should upgrade to 9. I'm kinda of hesitant since I understand you can't uninstall it without doing a system restore. Are there any new worthwhile features? And will I be restricted in what CD's I can rip or MP3's I can play back with the DRM?

I'd say go ahead and upgrade. I have it, and I like it a lot more than WMP 8.

I don't think it has restrictions on CDs you can rip or MP3s you can play back, but it won't rip CDs as MP3s unless you buy an add-on from a third party.

I'd also say upgrade. I've been using WMP9 ever since the first beta's and I think it is a improvement over previous versions. It's interface is still a little quirky compared to some other media players like iTunes, but I still like it nonetheless.

I see a remove Media Player option in my Add/Remove Programs list. I assume that would uninstall it, then you can always reinstall it. Of course, I'm probably wrong. :)
