I have never seen the episodes when they went to Europe was it the entire season ?? And were any shot on location ?? Did Charlie and bunny go as well? Was the season similar to when Lucy and the Mertzes went??

I just started watching the show on Cozi, but so far this is my impression:Danny and Kathy went to Europe alone. They filmed on location in London without a live studio audience. Some scenes are filmed outdoors.Charlie and Bunny stayed home with the kids.It seems they rotated the storylines each week. One week they would center the story around Danny and Kathy in London. The next week, the episode would focus on Charlie and Bunny or the kids at home.

There are Episode Guides on the Internet, but none of them are 100% reliable. This is my best knowledge of the "European" season. The European episodes began with the fourth episode. I believe they were all filmed on location. The other episodes often started with a minute or two of Danny and Kathy reading a letter from Charley and Bunny, who were watching the kids, and then the episode would show what the letter was talking about. There were usually two "home" episodes in between the European ones.

It looks as if Cozi shows the series in the order filmed, not as originally broadcast. This was how it was originally, as far as I know:

1962-63 Season 10Oct 1 [10.1] "The Baby Hates Charley." The baby screams whenever Charley comes near him.
Oct 8 [10.2] "Danny's Replacement." Danny is signed for a European tour but first has to find a replacement at the club.
Oct 15 [10.3] "What Are Friends For?" Danny is mad because Charley and Bunny haven't volunteered to take care of Rusty and Linda while he and Kathy are in Europe.
Oct 22 [10.4] "The British Sense of Humor." Danny wants a British friend to check his material before he plays the Palladium.
Oct 29 [10.5] "Jose Rents the Copa." Jose wants to rent the Copa and winds up getting it for a ridiculously low fee.
Nov 5 [10.6] "Rusty for President." Rusty is nominated for junior class president and Charley suggests they stage a rally at the Copa.
Nov 12 [10.7] "A-Hunting We Will Go." A curious fellow named Jamie invites Danny to accompany him on a hunting trip.
Nov 19 [10.8] "Ten Years Ago Today." Charley reminisces about how he opened the Copa Club and how Danny became his star attraction.
Nov 26 [10.9] "Jose the Scholar." Jose is attending night school to improve himself.
Dec 3 [10.10] "The Ould Sod." In Ireland, Danny and Kathy stop at a small village to visit Kathy's relatives.
Dec 10 [10.11] "Tonoose, Life of the Party." Uncle Tonoose crashes Rusty's party.
Dec 17 [10.12] "Danny's English Friend." In a London pub, Danny tells a friendly but inept waiter who says he's on his way to New York, to see Charley for a good table at the Copa Club.
Dec 24 [10.13] "Bunny the Brownie Leader." To keep Linda's Brownie troop from disbanding, Bunny volunteers to be the new leader.
Dec 31 [10.14] "Charley the Artist." Bunny and Charley take an art course.
Jan 7 [10.15] "Lost French Boy." In Paris, Danny and Kathy help a little lost French boy.
Jan 14 [10.16] "Jose the Dog Sitter." Jose is given the additional job of taking care of a pedigreed pooch.
Jan 21 [10.17] "Tonoose Needs Glasses." Tonoose is told he needs glasses.
Jan 28 [10.18] "Million Dollar Dress." In Paris, Danny discovers that the dress he promised Kathy costs over a thousand dollars.
Feb 4 [10.19] "Rusty's Birthday." It's Rusty's 16th birthday and he's unhappy that he hasn't received a present from his parents in Europe.
Feb 11 [10.20] "Charley the Tiger." Charley is learning how to defend himself.
Feb 18 [10.21] "The Roman Patriot." A handsome Italian offers to act as Kathy's escort on a tour of Rome.
Feb 25 [10.22] "Jose's Guided Tour." Jose's making extra money conducting tours of Danny's apartment.
    Mar 4 [10.23] "Bunny's Cousin." Bunny's stage-struck cousin visits.
Mar 11 [10.24] "When in Rome." In Rome, Danny's agent advises Danny and Kathy to eat only in places catering to American tourists.
Mar 18. Pre-empted for Arthur Godfrey special. (Every episode guide lists an episode here that couldn't possibly be correct, because it has Danny in New York.)
Mar 25 [10.25] "Louise to the Rescue." When a movie star is being temperamental at the Copa, Louise says that she and her ladies' club members can be of some help.
Apr 1 [10.26] "Venetian Melody." In Venice, Danny and Kathy are dogged by a one-girl talent agency named Maria.
Apr 8 [10.27] "Charley, My Boy." A singer butters up Charley so she can get an audition at the Copa.
Apr 15 [10.28] "Linda the Grownup." Linda offers to take on all the domestic tasks of the Halper household.
Apr 22 [10.29] "Homecoming." Danny and Kathy return from Europe and the Halpers feel "turned out to pasture."
Apr 29 [10.30] "Tonoose's Brother." Danny wants Uncle Tonoose's older brother to oppose Tonoose's elaborate plans for the Williams clan.
May 6 [10.31] "Jose's Rival." Jose has fallen for a tap dancer.
    May 13. Reruns begin.

i did some research on marlo

too many people referred to her in a very bad way

it would be hard for me to believe that she was anything like her "that girl" character

until and unless the first seasons are released, i also need to go where logic dictates - personal issues are involved with the non-release of these episodes

The whole series should be made available with Kathy and Margaret even if it is MOD! It is a shame Donna Reed, Hazel, Beaver, Andy, Lucy, are almost or complete releases! This series was a staple of television I say contact the estate and start the ball rolling with SHOUT or someone to get this series on DVD!

This show and it's star were so popular in it's day, so it's hard to believe it didn't do better on DVD. I'd love to get the complete series including the Jean Hagen seasons. I don't think the estate has any objections to it's release. They've already agreed to 2 releases with 2 different companies . I just think that sales weren't very good. Still if another company like Shout Factory takes a chance on the show , I hope they release the entire series at the same time.

Someone needs to contact Marlo and Shout and express an interest! Or even Shout to get the ball rolling ...

Forget about Shout!, they seem to be more interested in releasing more contemporary classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I can't see them wanting to do vintage B&W anymore, with a few exceptions.

I agree. I doubt we'll see many more b/w releases from them. I'm still told they will release Bilko. But that's going to be the exception, not the rule, going forward.

I wish Shout would put somebody in charge at Timeless that has a knowledge and a passion for classic 50s and 60s television shows. Then maybe Timeless would once again live up to its name.

I wish Shout would license a few more shows. Something like the subject of this thread could be a good match, in my opinion, for the Shout label itself.

We've gotten a good bit of it and can look forward to some more like Bilko and Ozzie & Harriet, but there's still some big ones absent or close to it that have been seen in syndication off and on over the years.

The Timmy years for Lassie for instance is something I don't think many of us would've expected to not appear eventually in season sets when such releases were at their height of popularity a decade or so ago.

So as dire as things are in this area, I hope we have a few more surprises in store over the next few years.

Looks like Hulu has some of the early years with Jean Hagen??

I'm just thrilled that the entire series of Sgt. Bilko will be coming out on DVD, whenever it will be coming out and hopefully soon.

1 season one episode, 4 season 2 episodes, 3 season 3 episodes and a season 11 episode. Nice? Sure. But hardly worth getting excited over.

I would definately pick up a whole series release of both SANFORD and MAKE ROOM FOR GRANDDADDY.

Maybe I am the odd collector, but I really enjoy seeing sequel series that show the same characters in altered or different situations.

SANFORD I had a lotta hope for after SANFORD AND SON sold well. I guess with MAKE ROOM FOR GRANDDADDY, well, if I can't even get a decent release of the original series, the sequel with never see the light of day.

Yeah, it's just the public domain episodes. And what they're calling Season 11, Episode 29, "First Allowance," is obviously a very early episode, because not only is Jean Hagen the wife, but Louise Beavers is playing Louise (and Rusty is very young.)
