Maybe they're thinkinh if the strike ends before the end of the calendar year, they'll still be able to launch on time AND have the entire season ready to go? That's a guess, obviously.
Cause we would be watching something that the writers are striking for. (webisodes that they are not being paid for) I assume some people would feel guilty...
But these missing pieces are safe. I'm just wondering what kind of contract ABC made for these.
I'm guessing that ABC made the contract to avoid the adverse publicity that NBC/Universal got for the Battlestar Galactica webisodes, which, as noted above, is one of the strike issues.
For right now I'll put it in spoilers, so I won't get yelled at.
It's pretty easy to see where this piece fits in. Simple episode, but I'm hoping there's something more for the next episode.
As it fits in right before Jack marries Sarah. They're setting up their wedding with the wedding planner.
Jack is outside throwing rocks into the ocean. Dr. Christian Shephard walks out to give Jack a watch that was given to him by his father, on his wedding day.
Christian's dad didn't approve of his wife. So Christian never wore the watch.
Jack thinks his dad is trying to tell him something. He's not. Just that he's happy for him. Christian does ask that if Jack and Sarah have any kids, to treat them better than what Christian did to Jack.
The missing piece takes place right before Hurley and Libby's big date(and actually right before Libby dies) So it should fit into episode #20 of Season 2 titled Two for the Road
Hurley takes a bottle of Dharma wine from Rose and Bernard's tent. Neil catches him and wants to know where he's going. Neil says if he doesn't "seal the deal" with Libby it's time for Neil to make a move on Libby.
A little in appropriately titled. They really didn't have an adventure.
But it was cool to finally see who Frogurt/Neil is.
Neil(AKA Frogurt) was a one of the background Lost survivors. Hurley made friends with him(off screen) and was referred to within the first Two seasons. Hurley gave Neil the name Frogurt, because Neil made some type of yogurt back home.
It doesn't matter if you know who the character is or not. This story (and probably every other one) has no bearing on any episode or story. It's just something fun for the fans. You will miss out on nothing if you don't see them or do not know who minor characters are.
Lost "Missing Piece" webisode #3 came out finally(about a day late)
King of the Castle
With Jack and Ben- just after Jack has been incorporated into the Others camp and when Ben has made his agreement for Jack to leave the island on the sub.
Jack and Ben are playing chess.
Ben kids around about fully intending on keeping his promise, unless the island won't let him leave. Ben says there might be one day where Jack may regret it and want to come back to the island.
Jack replies with "NEVER"
Quite a good missing piece and conversation over a game of chess. The best missing piece so far And as far as I'm concerned, a little important.
While I like the idea of having episodes run without interuption. I just think this layover is just too long. I am trying to remember everything that happened at the end of last season. And we still have another month or two.
Hey Lost fans, I searched in the DVD software section and there was no season 3 thread... Did anyone have disc problems with the new set? I'ven been rewatching the season, and wanted to jump to the last episode but disc 6 is not playable. Put it in 3 seperate machines and a computer. Total bummer. Wondering if this is an isolated case, or if 'others' experienced the same problem. Lost the damn receipt too..
I didn't have that problem (and a buddy of mine would have mentioned it to me if he had) but the semi-good news for you is that the S3 finale is scheduled to rerun the night before the S4 premiere.
