    Hi Everyone,
I've been reading the forum here for a while, and it seems like this is one of the best places to get advice.

I'm looking for thoughts on this possible set-up:
    Receiver: Panasonic SA-XR25S
    DVD: Pioneer DV-563AS
Speakers: JBL SCS160 or Yamaha NS-P236

I'm hoping to spend under $1000 total yet have a 6.1 setup, with SACD and DVD-A capability. I'm new at home theater shopping so I'm open to other suggestions, especially for the speakers. I'm aiming for $500 on the speakers. Thanks for all your help in advance.

I'd take the JBL system over the Yam, just by looking at the specs. I had a bigger Yam sub for a day, it was pretty bad. The 320, I think it was.

If you can do $500, try for a JBL NSP system ($220 or so online, ebay and others) plus a Sony 12" sub.

Or HomeTheaterDirect's Level 2 , which may be a bit spendy.

There are a ton of options...listen to as much as you can in person, but I know that if you can spend $500, you'll do better than either of the 2 options listed in your post.

    Good Luck!

one hellof a deal! Add on the 12" instead of the 10"...
