basically if the Samsung does not display a 1080p picture. I would not consider it for any reason. I would not consider any blu-ray hd player without 1080p compatibility.
Yeah, I can't tell what they are trying to say. I mean, one thing HDMI will not do for most people is "let them easily interface to their existing televisions," and it talks about "native" 1080i and 720p resolutions — not specifying at all what it will do when the content is native 1080p. Frankly it sounds like doubletalk, which isn't good to be sure, but at least doesn't rule out 1080p output for 1080p material: it only seems to deny that 1080i and 720p will be output upscaled to 1080p.
