Just for the hell of it, a little HTF game ; who would you pick if you had to assemble a League of Extraordinary Movie Characters ?
Rules are these -
Pick five for the team and one villain for them to fight.
No more than one charcter from one film.
Time span is irrelevant ( we can contrive some time travelling nonsense to bring them all together).
Try to avoid superheroes (BATMAN, SPIDERMAN etc).
If the film is based on a literary source, try to use characters who have appeared only once, rather than in a series of books. So, for example, Humbert Humbert from LOLITA would be ok, but Sherlock Holmes or Hannibal Lecter would not.
OK ? Here's one combination to start -

Will Munney (from UNFORGIVEN)
Ellen Ripley (from ALIEN)
Jen (Zhang Ziyi from CROUCHING TIGER)
The T1000 (from T2)
and Derek Flint (from OUR MAN FLINT)

versus KEYSER SOZE !!

Jack Burton (Big Trouble in Little China) - He would provide the bravado and action for my little crew. Plus, he knows what to say when someone taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall and asks you if you paid your dues.
Jeff "El Duderino" Lebowski (The Big Lebowski) - He is the mighty detective engine able to discern the villain's scheme after a hefty helping of Black Russians and the occasional incapacitation by either his allies and/or his enemies.
Steven McCrosky (Airplane!) - Although invariably, the crisis will happen the same week he decided to quit sniffing glue.
Stitch (Lilo and Stitch) - Meega Na La Queesta
Diedre (Ronin) - Although woefully out of her element, she is the leader and director of this team. Of course, she is constantly rolling her eyes and exclaiming that the man in the wheelchair gave her "a bunch of f***ing lames".

As our worthy adversary, I would suggest the first film in the series would call for a battle against the eminent scientist Dr. Emilio Lizardo, the host for Lord John Whorfin (The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai).

Goku (Dragonball Z)
Mike S. (Road to Perition)
-Chow Yun Fat's character- (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon)
Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars)
Gandalf the White (Lord of the Rings)

vs.
Mecha-Streisand (South park Ep 112)

note* Goku alone could take on anything you throw at him assuming he was a real person. for those of you who watch the show, know that even at the beginning of DBZ characters were blowing up planets with ease.
