Lamp Problem on Samsung HL-S5086W (1 Viewer)

Question for the experts...the lamp recently died in my Samsung S5086 so I finally got around to buying a replacement. I just followed the replacement instructions (my first time) which were very simple, but after starting it back up...i've got nothing. The lamp lights for about 4 seconds and fans spin up....but then lamp turns back off and the fans turn off. The lamp light continuously blinks on the front of the TV. I tried putting the old lamp back in...and same thing. Any thoughts? Did something else die?! Thanks so much in advance!

remove the lamp and then reseat it.


ensure it is firmly in place. Ensure the cover is properly closed / sealed.

I recall reading some reports that some replacement bulbs were produced that didn't actually fit properly, and that could cause issues. No idea if this could be what you're experiencing.
