Just a guess but I suspect it's either The Bride Wore Black (with that Bernard Herrmann score) or possibly Mississippi Mermaid. Either one would be more than welcome.
I'd be happy with either myself.

Possibly with Criterion, if the New Year drawing is being interpreted correctly.
The Party would just be too much straight up fun for Criterion. Haven't they already exhausted their yearly allotment of schtick with It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World?

...unless of course, a Japanese version of the movie exists.

Don't think this article was posted yet. It recaps the acquisition, but provides a few more details:

"The independent/foreign/silent specialist is ushering in a new era by licensing 70 titles from the United Artists library for DVD and Blu-ray."

And it reveals one more title:

"Coming Home (1978), showcasing Jane Fonda as the wife of a soldier who falls for disabled Vietnam veteran Jon Voight"

Hope they do at least a couple of UA's 50's widescreen adventure movies a la THE VIKINGS for us "old timers". They are usually show the most noticeable blu-ray improvement over standard DVD.

Very remote to non-existent possibility, but it'd be great if Kino Lorber undertook the restoration project on "The Alamo," since it appears MGM is content to let the uncut version slowly disintegrate.

I don't think Kino is in the position to do any restoration or extensive remastering of the MGM catalog they've licensed.
I didn't think so, but thought I'd express the hope. MGM should be flogged for what they did to THE ALAMO.

Every major studio did terrible things to their film catalog back in the day. It was the hip thing to do.

Wow, 70 already? Wonder how much they plan to deliver within 2014...

Sadly, this only happened in the last 15-20 years. To make matters worse, they weren't the original producing studio. When a complete print was found in the early 90's, they improperly stored it.

Very remote to non-existent possibility that any 50's widescreen adventure film will ever be brought to blu-ray even without the necessity of restoration, hmm, nice to know. Maybe they can let them rot and disintegrate too.
