Great news, a must upgrade for me. I hope somebody does an audio commentary track.

Just want to let folks know I was at a Fox press event last evening.

THE KING OF COMEDY 30th ANNIVERSARY Blu-ray is still on
schedule. I am sort of amazed that Amazon still has no preorder
available.

Will absolutely let you know as soon as it can be ordered, which
I suspect, will be any day now.

Any news, Mr. Epstein? (Thank you in advance!)

Chris,

You would laugh if you knew how many times per day I check
Amazon to see if this title has been added for preorder.

I am absolutely stunned that it hasn't been added yet.

No indication whatsoever from the studio that it has been delayed.

I would bet that artwork and Amazon preorder will appear within
the next week or two if we are looking at an October release.

Thank you for the reply, and letting me know I'm not the only one searching for the preorder link many times a day.

Just to give everyone an update....

Did a little investigating on why this title has yet to appear
for preorder on Amazon.

THE KING OF COMEDY has been delayed from the original
October 29th date.

I am not being given the new date at this time, but being
promised it is still set for release later this year.

That would mean a Nov-Dec timeframe.

I am being promised full press materials when the new date
is finally announced.

This seems odd, but the Canadian Amazon website actually does have a listing for The King of Comedy, dated Dec.10

I also am very much looking forward to this release, as it a genuine favourite of mine. I really do hope there will be some new Special Features added to it. The featurette on the DVD wasn't bad, but it was devoid of any insight from deNiro or Lewis. A commentary track would also be welcome.

It's definitely delayed and nobody is talking specifically when....

...that being said all I can get out of Fox reps it that it will be this year.

Funny there is still no preorder on Amazon U.S. as of yet.

....but at least for the United States, don't expect an October release.

What's the story with Jerry Lewis releases in general - are they jinxed or something? We've only had a handful of them from Olive so far. There's a treasure trove of Jerry Lewis movies, both with and without Dean Martin, begging to be released on blu. Who do we have threaten or cajole to get things moving?

I don't have high hopes we are going to see classic Jerry Lewis
(with or without Dean) released to Blu-ray.

Heck, can't even get all of Jerry's films released to DVD. Sony is
holding on to at least one title.

Of course, I would never want to say never, but with studios curtailing
and outsourcing their classic library releases, I have a feeling that they
might feel there is no demand to have these films prepared for Blu-ray
release.

Yes it is.
And in what film did Dean sing that one several times?
First correct answer receives...........oh, I dunno, I'll think of something. :)
