Is there an affordable way to catch up on X-Files seaons 1-7? (w/REPRICING INFO) (2 Viewers)

I noticed that seasons 1-4 were in full screen format... however the remainder of the seasons were in widescreen format.
99.9% of all television shows didn't film in widescreen for broadcast. (ER being the notable exception with the DVD releases of course) They changed it because it looked better and expensive and they were the X-files so they had enough money to.

Midway through the life of the series digital cable and satellite services were offering hi def content, so the producers decided to take advantage of this.

I assume you mean "hi-def" content. I'm not aware of any cable or satellite services offering "anamorphic" content", although I'd be interested to learn about any that do.
