is it bad to run dolby digital surorund without rear speakers hooked up ? (1 Viewer)

just wondering if its bad to use dd surround w/o rear speakers hooked up. ive got my 3 fronts and subwoofer done but i dont have my rears done yet and wont beable to finish them till the weekend.
ive got a haran kardon AVR320. please let me know if its ok.

It's OK in the sense that you won't damage your equipment. But you'll be missing two channels of audio.

Just set the rear speaker to "NO" or off and it will mix the surround sound into the fronts so you don't lose any sound. Then when you get the rears turn them back on and calibrate everything for the full surround.
