I have a bit of a problem paying $50 for Apple's leather case.

It looks like there may be better options out there that add little
bulk to the phone itself.

I know some of you like to have the phone naked, but I just can't
take the risk of dropping and breaking the phone. Additionally, I plan
to sell it in 1-2 years for the next iteration, so I don't want scratches all
over it.

Here are cases I am considering that are available right now (or on phone
release date) via Amazon. Interested in your opinions and what you might
be planning to purchase.

There is a media dock that I am looking at and will reference as well....

(Please excuse the fact I am referencing iPhone 6 Plus cases. All cases
are also available for the iPhone 6. You'll just have to search for it on Amazon)

Spigen iPhone 6 Plus Case

This is my front-runner pick. Like the metal look. It's super slim adding
no bulk.

Like the fact I can put my credit cards and cash into one single wallet
that shares my iPhone. Since I plan on using a stylus, it looks like that may
fit into the binding.

For those that want real leather over synthetic, this may be a better choice

Henge Docks Gravitas

I need a docking station for my iPhone 6 so I can dock it at night, charge,
and have media output to play music or sleep machine app noise.

Not certain the current Apple Media Dock (which is half the price at least)
supports the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus. This dock costs $70, but oh boy is
it really good looking and built well. Certainly a possible consideration if
I don't pay Apple's prices on cases.

For the record there is a $10 difference between scratched and perfect trade in prices from Gazelle.

I'm ordering the expensive leather one, will see if I decide to use it long term or not.

But a bigger difference if the glass breaks.

Still considering the expensive $50 leather case, but I also want that media dock
so I may have to compromise.

Thanks for this info! I didn't know apple already listed cases for the new phone.

I would rather have a wallet style case I think... but that is as long as the name of the maker isn't embedded on the front of it.

I am afraid of dropping the new 6 plus myself. That is the one I am going after.

Bought one of these since the batteries can't be swapped out:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DMWV3EU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A294P4X9EWVXLJ

Bought a higher quality lightning cable for car charging:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MDFRYG8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2QE683R5GI18D

And, I finally decided upon this case. Highly, highly rated across the Internet and it looks great in RED:

Thanks for the link to that lightning cable.

I had already bought that case in red. I agree it looks great. I also bought a Spigen Slim Armor to try out and I'm interested in the Speck Candyshell Grips in black/gray when that comes out. After spending a small fortune on an Element aluminum case for my 4S I figure I'm going to try a few cheaper ones with less bulk.

I have to go for shock protection since I'm a klutz. Wonder how good this will be if you drop the phone?

Even though I would prefer to carry my iPhones naked, I always put them in an Otterbox Defender.
I think I've dropped by 4s at least 5 times and my defender has protected it well.

I currently use a Lifeproof case on my 5s. It protects the phone like a champ. I've got kids and I don't worry about them with it, but it looks and feels cheap compared to how nice the phone is. I'd love to keep the 6+ without a case. I'm just not sure that's a good idea with my family.

I have a Sony radio with the old dock that I use for listening to music and podcasts at night while charging. I had to buy the dock to lightning cable adapter, but it works with my 5s. I just had a thought about my move to the bigger phone. I use my phone while working out and walking/running a lot. That may be more difficult with the bigger phone. I either slip it in my pocket or use the Liifproof arm band solution. It works really well. Hmm...what to do.

I frequently carry my phone in the back pocket of a bicycle jersey so a waterproof case is essential. I hope Lifeproof announces their new cases soon.

Returning my Spigen case. Didn't even open it. Just felt that I wanted
to get a better case.

For years, I have trusted Seidio cases. They are a bit more expensive, but
have always been very dependable. They are also attractive and thin.

Ordered the Seidio Surface for $35. Red should go really nice with the
space grey.

Ron,
The only concern I have with this case is if it fits into the dock you described earlier. I ordered and already received the Spigen Aluminum Fit case for iPhone 6. I have a similar one for my iPhone 5S and it has served me well for a year. Have yet to receive the phone, all I know is that the departure scan states it left China and that it should arrive by Friday (earlier than the originally scheduled mid Oct date). I ordered the Space Gray iPhone 6 64G model. The plus looks too bulky for me.
I also ordered the following:
iPhone 6 Screen Protector, Spigen® [Full HD] iPhone 6 (4.7) Screen Protector [Crystal Clear][3-PACK]**JAPANESE BASE PET FILM** High Definition (HD) [LIFETIME WARRANTY] Premium Ultra Clear Front Screen Protector for iPhone 6 (4.7) (2014) - Crystal CR

I know several forum members hate these screen protectors, but to me they are a must.

Raul,

My iPhone 6 Plus was supposed to arrive Thursday. Been bumped to Friday.

So, we are getting ours on the same day.

Uhm, yeah, I am taking a chance. The Seidio is not much thicker than the Spigen. Just
hopefully not to the point it doesn't fit in the Henge Dock. Won't know for another month
as the iPhone 6/6 Plus inserts for the dock won't be ready until then.
