They're saying it's going to have all kinds of extras, never seen before, that will send fans of I LOVE LUCY into fits of ecstasy.

Well, I LOVE LUCY is my favorite TV show of all time, but I've had it. I am NOT buying it all over again to get these extras, whatever they are. I don't care if it includes magic words to get Ball, Arnaz, Vance and Frawley to come back to life and perform an episode for you in your living room -- I'M NOT BUYING IT AGAIN!

Especially considering that within a few years there'll be a new format that'll make Blu-ray look awful in comparison and they'll expect us to buy it AGAIN!

I'll probably upgrade, but I wish they'd done what Image did with The Dick Van Dyke Show on blu: put out the entire series first, then release individual seasons later. I don't mind upgrading this classic to blu (as it's the last format I'm going to convert to no matter what comes down the pipeline next), but I'm tired of doing it piecemeal.

The only other series I'd upgrade to blu would be Bewitched, but I know that will never happen.

I will upgrade also, but, damn, $90 per season is pretty steep. And I agree, Bewitched is the only other one. My two fave shows of all time.

I want to wait for a complete series set, but I wouldn't be able to afford that!

I said the same thing in The Andy Griffith Show thread but I think $90 is the MSRP and the set will street for $60-ish. That's still pretty still steep but it's better than $90. Plus, it's not like it won't go on sale at some point too.

I would rather have a series set, but there's no guarantee right now (ok, it's VERY likely) that it will ever happen. What to do....plus, I think "The Honeymooners" is debuting that same day, for the same price.

The DVDs were pretty expensive, too, compared to other TV show sets.

I wonder whether they have to re-clear the music for each new release. That can't not have an effect on the price tag. A $90 MSRP is a lot, though. Even with a $30 discount, it'll still be a lot ($60 should be the MSRP, but they just have to maintain their profit margins at all costs). I love Lucy, but I love eating and paying my bills and the rent on time just a little bit more.

It would be nice if they offered a trade-up program for those of us who invested in the DVDs and will only get pennies on the dollar for them on the used market.

The "Lucy" DVD sets started out very expensive but Paramount decreased the prices on them after a while. The repackaged versions can be had for under $20 now. I wish they'd have released the entire series in one hit, although I'd imagine that set would also command a considerable price. Maybe it won't hurt as much not to be hit with the entire thing in one transaction - and fans will be able to get the seasons at comfortable intervals.

That's what I loved about Image's Dick Van Dyke Show release on blu. They gave us the entire series first for those that didn't want to wait (and got great deals on it on Amazon), then followed very quickly with individual seasons for those that wanted to spread out the expense or only get certain seasons. Perfect way to go.

Also, I think it's doubtful they would have to clear the music rights again. I'm sure when they did it for the dvd release, they took care of any and all future home video incarnations.

Well glad to see that CBS/Paramount is doing more classic T.V. on Blu Ray.

I am a HUGE "I Love Lucy" fan.....and I am definitely considering getting this set. However.....I am very disappointed that they are not releasing the complete series at once. This is one of those shows, I would prefer the complete series over the season sets. Why....because the season sets of the DVDs took forever and like HBO/Warner's series "The Sopranos", they did it by seasons sets on Blu-Ray (Seasons 1 & 6 only) and they didn't sell well. So they stopped and now the series is stalled (on Blu-Ray only). This is why I would prefer the COMPLETE SERIES at once. I realize the price tag for the whole season set would be higher.....but the price their quoting for the "I Love Lucy - Season 1" is about the same price I paid for the whole series of the "Dick Van Dyke Show" on Blu-Ray ($112.00) and "Friends" on Blu-Ray ($114.00). CBS/Paramount.....you need to take note of that. Complete series set of "I Love Lucy" would be better, imo.

"The Honeymooners (Classic 39)" which is supposed to be released on Blu-Ray in March 2014....I will DEFINITELY buy because it is the COMPLETE SERIES of the show (yes, I know, this is not including lost episodes.....but the classic 39 was when "The Honeymooners" was a stand-alone show.....not a skit on "The Jackie Gleason Show" like the lost episodes were taken from). So CBS/Paramount is doing the right thing on this show.

Now "The Andy Griffith Show" is a whole other issue for me. I am happy with the DVD's (I have the first 5 seasons).....I would consider buying on Blu-Ray.....however, this is one of those shows (at least for me), where I only liked the first 5 seasons (Black and white/Barney Fife shows only). I didn't care for the later seasons (color/no Barney). So I am still on the fence with this one.....and kinda glad they are going season by season on this t.v. series (but I still prefer the complete series, even though "The Andy Griffith Show" is not my "holy grail" show like "I Love Lucy"). Sorry, I'm just picky.....LOL.

Set has been removed from the site. Hopefully, due to a pricing error! At that price, the complete series would cost over$900!

Yes, that's a ridiculous price for something that's readily available on DVD at a fraction of that cost. Nobody but the most diehard fans is going to pay it.

The price is still undetermined. It'll probably be big but we can't complain yet. :)

I am surprised they are not including the I Love Lucy movie which is 3 Season 1 episodes with new linking scenes. It makes me think they will include it on a complete series set as they did with the DVDs.
