If anything my daughter's performance made me want to watch the movie. What I want to know from her is what she thought of the movie since she knew the music and story well before going to see it.

I thought Chris Columbus's direction was pretty pedestrian. The movie looked more like a beer commercial than an avant garde rock opera.

Also, the inclusion of dialog scenes that weren't in the play really watered it down, IMO.
