The wonderful Peg La Centra dubs Ida Lupino in both THE MAN I LOVE (46) and ESCAPE ME NEVER (47) - a perfect match if there ever was one. I wish Miss La Centra would have spared us again in ROAD HOUSE (48) though.....

That's an erroneous piece of info that has been circulating for years and years - pure myth. Andy Williams was indeed considered, but they let Miss Bacall sing her own song in the end. And the film was TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT. Miss Bacall does her own, very unprofessional singing in both films actually.
