I just wanted to chime in here. I realize theres plenty of raves about this movie, but I just saw it for the first time last night, and wow...everything said here is correct. What a great movie!

Highly recommended to anyone whose still on the fence after reading through this whole thread!

The subtitles are player generated, so they'll go wherever your player wants to put then.
Yes, Amelie is worth a blind purchase. Personally, I could watch it every day

This is my first post! (whoohoo!)

I have to agree with everything I have read about this movie. My wife and I watched it last night (we decided to buy it without having seen it) and it truly is a wonderful, magnificent film. In addition, this is without a doubt one of the most incredible transfers I have ever seen. My Sony Wega displayed vivid greens that I never knew existed. This DVD makes you fall in love with your equipment all over again.

Watched it yesterday as well. A great blind purchase, as I expected. A truly BEAUTIFUL film experience, quirky and wondrous, and oh-so-colorful Audrey Tatou is magnificent!

I also bought it blind. I was so glad when it finally came out and wasn't disappointed in the least. As a matter of fact, I was overjoyed with the movie's charm and its wonderfully intricate plot structure. Also loved the extras, especially the screen tests.

I watched it last night and I would have to agree with the majority, great film, great transfer. I did notice one anomaly, when the DVD goes from Chapter 7 to Chapter 8, the time display on my DVD player jumps from 58:00 to 1:05:00. Did anyone else notice this 7 minute time jump?

I have yet to see this film, but it is next on my list. It sounds like such a sweet, endearing, innocent kind of flick. Why the 'R' rating?

Why the 'R' rating?

Because of the humorous sex situations(about 10 secs of orgasams), another humorous sex scene, and the adult sex toys shown at the adult place?(but not excessive, not even sure if it would make it an R or not) and partial nudity

Its basically all the nudity. Theres more than I would consider "partial" nudity. Theres an entire 20-30 second scene later in the movie where the female shopkeeper (forget her name) is dancing fully unclothed in full visible view. And like previously mentioned all the other adult/sexual situations, and the whole porn shop thing. Defintely R rated.

Rented this today and agree it is an enjoyable movie!
