I think the Fanbase is that large Joe. I think its the fans are snapping up these "Collections" more than the general public anyway. The Fanbase has been begging for the complete collection for so long, & the complete Shemps & Bessers are the rarest.

I haven't been able to find a copy of Volume 4 this week. It's sold out at the places I've checked! (Stores are probably not ordering enough) Hoping to find a copy this weekend.

I know exactly what HELLOLARRY means, and I've noticed that for years. I've always thought it was because for something like a title card during the credits, it's much more economical to clean up and restore one frame and reuse it for however long it lasts (50 frames or whatever) than go on and clean up and restore 49 more identical frames. In fact, it would be an outrageous waste of money and time to do otherwise. However, I do notice that things seem to "freeze" at that point. But, like so many things in movies, I guess the vast majority of the public doesn't notice or care one bit.

Hi Joe!

While an interesting theory, I respectfully disagree that this applies to The Three Stooges Title Cards because of the following:

- The repeated use of one frame, as you described it, is rendered nonviable by the dissolve transitions that do occur between the Columbia Logo/Title Card/Director & Additional Credits, on THE THREE STOOGES COLLECTION Sony DVD Volumes. For the sake of comparison, I also viewed their 1939 short, YES, WE HAVE NO BONANZA that I had transferred from a 1988 Columbia VHS release (PHONY EXPRESS, & OTHER NYUKS), which has the same type of dissolve transitions, but not the same level of image stability as the 2008 Sony DVD version. Therein lies the difference in any "motion" that was previously detected!

- Furthermore, it seems to me that the required additional effort of syncing the audio up with the redone visuals would very likely cancel out any economical benefits of reusing just one restored frame, as opposed to all x number of them!

CHEERS! :)
