With a down firing sub (Klipsch KSW-15) will carpet take away from the sound experience? In other words should I carpet the entire floor of the HT (11 x 15), make it hardwood, or put hardwood flooring only under the sub say a 5 x 5 area?

I'm not an expert, but I believe the low frequencies will not be greatly affected by carpet. Carpet vs. Hardwood makes less of a difference than Subfloor vs. Concrete slab (I think).
