    Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was a way to do this:

I want to get an LCD to mount on my wall, but I don't want to put the dvd and cable box below it because i want it to be simplistic and clean looking.

Is there a product that let's me mount a sensor to the tv and then have the boxes under my bed or something? so when i point the remote at the tv, it's switching the channels on the box or controlling the dvd player that is under my bed or in a cabinet?

I'm not sure what my options are...

You can get an RF remote, instead of using the usual IR remotes.
The RF remote will work through walls, with sources in another room.

Both Parts Express and Smart Home carry infrared distribution systems.

    Hello Robert,

THanks for the website and info.

I went to smarthome.com and I am... overwhelmed. I clicked on the IR distribution link and find that i know nothing about the products listed.

Can you link me to exactly what i need (if possible and it's not too much trouble) to connect:

TV -> cablebox and DVD player.

with cablebox and dvd player hidden.

I 've used the Hotlink Pro from Smarthome more than once. Very simple to set up and can control up to 8 devices.

The cheapest and easiest to set up is the wireless "powermid". I got a similar product under the JVC name for $24 on Ebay. These are good products but not 100% reliable since they are prone to interference.

The wired product that Paul linked would be much more reliable but you will have to run cables through the wall.
