CBS is still hemming and hawing whether to renew the show for a ninth season or end it here. Which is a problem since they've filmed half the season already the producers don't know how deep they should be diving into the end game.
So far, the first half of the season apparently goes deeper toward the end game than it would have if they knew for sure there'd be a ninth season, but less far than it would have if they knew this was going to be the final season.
In other news, Barney is a much more concise narrator than Ted. The entire series so far, retold in under a minute:

That clip is hilarious. It must have taken days to memorize that dialogue.
Cute show, but it is starting to lose some steam, just hope they end it properly when the time comes.
