I am purchasing my first house this summer, and soon there after I am looking to start the design and building of a home theater...

This includes, possibly a wall, and then room design, and then the actual display, and speakers and receiver...

What I want to know is there is soo much to know, and read, and learn.

What speakers, what TV or projector, What to put on the walls, and what seats, so on and so forth. Is there anything where like I can just get an overall good grast of ideas, options, and things, besides reading every post in these forums...

Should I go to my high end theater store, or am I going to get just salesmen pitching sales?

Don't even think about walking into a store until you have a basic understanding of what you will be seeing and hearing. No you do not need to read every thread but you should read everything at the following link:

This should answer a lot of your questions and help you on your way.
