more abstains, I've only seen the very good Opposite of Sex and the fantastic Searcing For Bobby Fisher from this batch.

I'm not sure about an English Aguirre either, Fitzcarraldo, as Rain says, was filmed in English and then dubbed into German; though personally I always watch it in German as it just feels right that way.

I know Variety gave Invincible a poor review and Entertainment Weekly had it in the C - B- range. It's never played here or I would have seen it, but I'm a bit disappointed in the subject matter. I'm not sure why all these directors feel the need to make a Holocaust movie. I'm not looking forward to The Pianist either, though I plan on seeing it.

Yep, that's the one. Watch it only after you've taken a couple of Prozac! :frowning:
I'll chime in later with thoughts on my picks. I'm a little sleepy right now. Yawn...
You know, I'm starting to liken this tourney to a car crash: few people can actually participate, but eveybody drops in to gawk! :D

Sigh! I could have voted in the last round, but I’m back to abstaining.

At least Bobby did not need my help.

The winter wind howls outside. The Brian sits at his computer, drinking much coffee and trying to awake. Bless coffee he thinks. He shrugs off the last remaining elements of sleep (and the dream he had where Halle Berry had hit on him, and he had spurned her....yep, even in his dreams he's a dumbass) and slowly searches for the new brackets. As usual, the brackets are full of movies he hasn't seen. Damn he thinks. I wish I could vote. Slowly, a single tear forms in his left eye.

I'm sure one of you will be thrilled to know I just picked up a used copy of The Pledge today.

Finally, I can vote in one of the brackets, but I'm not sure I have a favorite. Oooohhh, I guess I'll go with
Beautiful Girls
BTW, Vickie, I have seen The Pledge and I wasn't exactly floored. for $7, I figured I'd give it a shot.

Salt of the Earth - Raimi's Gift was a big disappointment (as are all of his recent films), but it did contain an eye-poppin' Katie Holmes nude scene!
The Elephant Man - a superb film!
Ulee's Gold
