After much research I got the Hitatchi 51S500 which is on sale for 2299.00 at Circuit City or you may be able to negotiate to 2096.99 YMMV with the store manager.

It's predecessor was rated #3 by consumer reports in March.

Go to the Hitatchi home page and watch the video explaination of the features. It's much more informative than what the salepeople tell you.

If you want to fork out 3800.00+ Get the DLP Samsung. It weighs less, and the extended warranties are cheaper which probably means they have less to tear up. (only speculation) It definately has a better picture than any RPTV and can be viewed from the side.
