It's that time of year again. This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day.
You can find a list of this year's comics, and find out if you local comic book store is participating, at www.freecomicbookday.com

Note that different stores "participate" in different ways. Some people post about getting a big stack of free stuff, but other shops limit it to 1 book per person.

The only participating shop within a reasonable distance of me falls into the latter category, and it ain't all that close.

Will have to look into this and see if Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash or other local shops participate. My nephews have probably never been to a comic store...

Me: Are you participating in Free Comic Book Day?
Stash: Sure you can bring me free comic books!
    Me: Get bent!

So I went 2 blocks up the street to Amazing stories where my nephews got a bunch of free loot plus I bought em each some Marvel Lego clones and some comics with cash money.

What did we learn here? Don't be a douche on the phone to your customers!

We gave out almost all the seventeen thousand Free Comic Day Comics we bought. Yeah, we have to purchase them.

Great fun, lots of artists and creators ( indy folks ) and a huge cast of costumed characters. Families drove a hundred miles to participate. I'd say it was a rollicking success.
