Brad,

I have my 3300 hooked up to Monitor Audio silvers also. Sounds wonderful. For what Chase is looking to spend, I bet he would be happy with the Bronze series. Did you get yours in the metroplex?

Since I just hooked up my 3802, I guess I can chime in. I am running Polks all around: RT12 fronts, CSi40 center, and fx300i surrounds. Despite what everyone says about the Denon, I've got a fairly bright sound compared to my Yamaha 5240.

Brian,

I did get my speakers in the metroplex, in Plano. There is a small custom HT shop just down the street from me that carries them. Otherwise, I haven't seem the speakers around in many places. In fact, that's the only place I've seen them and they had them set up with a 3801 and that's when I knew.

Here is my current setup.

I have a Denon 4800 with an Parasound 1500a amp (200 x 2) driving...

Fronts Energy C-8's
Centers Energy AC300's
Rears Energy C-2's

It sounds awsome. I also have (new to the family) a SVS 20-39cs.

Denon2802, but I was a little disappointed with the sound so I decided to get a Parasound855(85x5) and Parasound2003(200x3) and the difference is fantastic. It convinced me to always buy separates from now on. My speakers are

Denon 3300 driving Energy e:XL 16's, e:XL C, ES-10 Sub and Take 2's as surrounds.

Will be moving all to the basement shortly where it will pair up with e:XL 26's and I'll move the 16's to the rear !

The Energy e:XL Series are a fantastic sounding line within your price range. Check 'em out !

Good Luck

peter a,

how do you like the 3802 with the axioms? i've purchased the receiver... now i'm deciding on whether or not to go with those axioms
I'm not "peter a," but, prior to outboard amplification, I had my Axioms hooked up to the 3802 and I really enjoyed the results as the details from the Axioms mated well with the warmth of the Denon.

Denon 5803
Speakers:
Definitive Technology
Mains - BP 2004TL
Center - CLR 2002
Surrounds - BP 2X

I just added a pair of Yamaha book shelf speakers I had laying around for the rear surrounds.
Works pretty well for movies.

I can tell you when I cranked my first movie with this set up at home I was floored.
Huge improvement from the Outlaw 1050 (still a great receiver at its price range imo) I was using.

At first I expected a bigger improvement with 2 channel music.
No doubt I heard quite an improvement, but I was looking for a warmer sound.
The bass was a huge improvement right off, but it took some break in time before I really noticed the warmer sound Denon is generally know for.
A bit of speaker tweaking also helped.

The DT speakers are very nice speakers even amazing for HT at their price range imo.
However I am looking to upgrade my speakers at some point in the hopefully near future.
I have Magnepan on my mind, but not sure if they will work well in my set-up.

Denon 2802
Klipsch RF3-II Fronts
Klipsch Rc3-II Center
Polk Audio Bookshelfs (unknown model) Rears (until I get the Klipsch RS3-II's)
Def Tech ProSub 100TL
Parasound HCA 855A

I was pretty satisfied with the sound the Klipsch provided with the Denon, but thought that there was room for improvement. So I headed the advice of several posters here from HTF and got myself a Parasound 885 amp and WOW! Improved soundstage, much better range (it no longer sounds like some of the background tracks are being drown out), cleaner more powerful bass, and on and on......
I think I may actually be done upgrading...for awhile.
::Thank God, says my wife under her breath:: For a modest middle of the road system, Im pretty impressed!
