Hey, I just thought of one more:
Herman's Head
My favourite scene from that show went something like this:
Herman's Boss: "You're one of the good guys, Herman."
Herman: "Great. Can I have the rest of the day off?"
Herman's Boss: "No."
Herman: "But I thought you said I was one of the good guys."
Herman's Boss: "You are. I however am a son of a bitch."

Am I the 1st one to say Snoops? Ok, so I guess I'm a sucker for hot chick action shows (at least for the 1st season or so)

Going way, way back:
Texas Honkers - Gary Busey was the eldest teenage son forced into taking care of the family due to the irresponsible, and frequently absent, father who was played by Jack Elam.
Amazing how the networks are so fast to replace good low rated shows with really awful low rated shows.

Freaks and Geeks My top choice -- how a show could reveal the heartbreak and horrors of high school and adolescence, yet be incredibly hilarious at the same time is some kind of miracle.
If anyone wants to know how much in LOVE I am with this show, read my posts in this thread (and pay particular attention to the LONG one near the bottom):

I'd say Ken Finkleman's The Newsroom, except that it may have gone longer than a season, and if it didn't it was probably just a long version of the "Finkleman mini-series".

Get A Life ran only two seasons but it was a damn funny show.
Sucks to Fox for cancelling it!
Bravo to Rhino for the DVD releases, albeit a slow release schedule.

"Herman's Head" lasted three seasons, Rain.
Really? I've only ever seen it in sydication and they seemed to repeat the same handful of episodes. I don't recall this show ever being a part of any network's schedule, though. When did this show originally air and on what network? Anyone know?

I could name a dozen, easily, but I'll just name one that noone remembers.
Otherworld.
Jonathan Banks was cool as the bad guy, and Mark Lenard guest starred at least once. "Good Food"...heh heh.
I liked it, anyway...noone else did, I guess. I think it lasted about 10 episodes, if even that. Time to check the IMDB.

Freaks and Geeks is one of my favorite series of all time, not just in the category of one (or less) season wonders. Some other shows that I've enjoyed through the years include:
The Phoenix (5 episodes)
Darkroom (16 episodes)
Wizards & Warriors (8 episodes)
Tales of the Gold Monkey (22 episodes)
Voyagers! (20 episodes)
Bring 'em Back Alive (18 episodes)
Hey Vern, It's Ernest! (13 episodes)
The New Adventures of Beans Baxter (17 episodes)
Max Headroom (14 episodes)
The Flash (23 episodes)
Going to Extremes (18 episodes)
Flying Blind (22 episodes)
Davis Rules (13 episodes on ABC, 16 episodes on CBS - I'm counting it!)
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (27 episodes)
EZ Streets(9 episodes)
The Dana Carvey Show (7 episodes)
Michael Hayes (22 episodes)
The Chimp Channel (13 episodes)
Vengeance Unlimited (16 episodes)
Now and Again (22 episodes)
The Fugitive (2000) (22 episodes)
Grapevine (1992) (6 episodes)
Grapevine (2000) (5 episodes)
Deadline (13 episodes, only 5 aired in most of the country)
Gideon's Crossing (21 episodes)
The Lone Gunmen (13 episodes)
The list shows how my tastes have evolved over the last twenty years, but they also show how the action/adventure genre is probably the riskiest one to sustain a series with. Special thanks to epguides.com for jogging my memory.

Voyagers!
Misfits of Science (Courtney Cox waaay back in the day)
Code Red
Sledge Hammer was on for at least two seasons. I remember the cliff hanger at the end of one season that he blew up a nuke...the next season is supposedly 5-6 years before that happened. What a cop out..

Boy, I can't believe I forgot my favorite TV show of all time. I think it only lasted a season anyway. THE NIGHT STALKER starring Darren McGavin and I believe it only ran during the '74-'75 season. I think it was so creative that they ran out of story lines. I think they originally just wanted to release a movie per year but decided on the series instead. I wish some channel would run those all over again.

No one has yet mentioned Wonderland, which played briefly on ABC two seasons ago. Exceptional cast, very dark subject matter (the working title was "Bellevue").
There's also the recently demised, much-lamented Grosse Pointe, which (with the possible exception of Action) was the funniest show on commercial television in the last 10 years.

I was easily amused as a child (maybe that hasn't changed as much as I'd like to think)
Not a "favorite", but I also saw the one of the shortest running "series" in TV history-"Turn On" with Tim Conway, which had so many viewer complaints in the first 20 minutes or so, that I think my local ABC affiliate pulled the plug before the first episode was finished. I don't know if it was broadcast in it's entirety anywhere else, but it was never to be seen again.

1. Firefly
2. The Lone Gunmen
3. The Silver Surfer (animated)
All three of them cancelled by Fox.
