HTF faithful, I need your help.

I'm wanting to compile a mix CD of my favorite Christmas tunes but would like to supplement it with classic sound bites from holiday films.

Although I'm savvy to most of the perennials, I'd welcome your suggestions no matter how familiar they may be to me; it'd also serve as a refresher as well as pointing me in the direction of some Christmas movies I've never seen before.

Probably the only person who likes both Judy Garland and Run-DMC.

I like Judy Garland and Run-DMC. You lost me with the Hall and Oates greenlight on "Jingle Bell Rock," though.

As far as Christmas line exchanges, my friends and I can't watch the scene in "Muppet Christmas Carol" where Tiny Tim starts exclaiming (I'm paraphrasing): "Oh, Peter, the goose! The goose!--*cough*hack*" and Miss Piggy says, "Oh, Tim, you've gotten too excited" without breaking into fits of laughter.

Other quotes that are heard around my house quite often are:

"You're nothing but a scurvy little spider (and that goes for you, too!)" from "It's a Wonderful Life,"

"There is one! There is one!" (referring to a much-desired swing) from "Miracle on 34th Street,"

and "I like 'The Wizard of Oz.'"
--"Yeah."
--"I like the Tin Man." from "Christmas Story"

Actually, Ben, it's not Hall & Oates' cover I like so much as the video for said song, which is delightfully cheesy. Someone on an 80s site said that the video was reminiscent of a Bob Hope Christmas special. It's that level of cheese and camp only some people can enjoy. That's not your thing, and that's cool. I just love cheesy stuff.

Time Life Classics released a 4-CD set of christmas favorites. All audio tracks are from original masters and all versions of songs are by the original artists that made them famous...not cheezy gag-me re-makes.

I was able to make a 90min Christmas Favorites tape with just about *every* song I ever wanted sourced from the 4-CDs in this one set.

The fifth CD I'd put in the CD changer would be the Charlie Brown Christmas!!!
