My review:

Looks really good. Colors and source quality are top-knotch. Was SLIGHTLY dissapointed with fine detail, most scenes appear a bit soft with transfer not really resolving the fine film grain I expected to see on a title like this. Could be just my expectations rather that problem with the title itself. Also, I am watching this on a 50" 720p rear-projection LCD so those of you with higher-resolving displays might see otherwise.

Still, MUCH better than the original Special Edition DVD (I haven't seen the newer SE so can't comment on that).

There were report on AVS that this was possibly a 1080i "bobbed" transfer, but I certainly can't tell.

Thumbs up.

Yada, yada, yada, yeah, I read all the comments on AVS. There's a whole lotta nitpickin' goin' on because this ole film looked fabulous on my 58" screen. Highly recommended!

That nitpicking does interest me, though, as there appears to be some sort of scaling/digital artifact going on if you zoom in (I checked a few other HD DVDs and I couldnt reproduce it). That is, assuming there isnt something wrong with the setup of the guy who posted the images.

Anyone have the 30th anniversary standard DVD that can prodvice a screencap of the orange WB logo?

You know, I never saw this film (nor any Bruce Lee flick) and
I sometimes enjoy a little martial arts action.

Does this still rank as one of the all-time great martial arts films?

I think I'll pick this up.

Ron, it is good, but you also have to get Kentucky Fried Movie as a companion piece. Its Enter the Dragon parody is dead-on funny.

Greetings

The KFM parody is funny because they don't really change anything in the parody. It is almost verbatum what happens in the film. :) Which tells you how silly the film is ... but that is what makes it so endearing.

The acting in ETD is pretty bad (Jim Kelly is particularly awful), but it's worth watching just to see the great Bruce Lee in all his charismatic glory in the only complete major studio release he ever made.

Oh...man....

KFM is one of my all-time favorite comedies and just for
that parody alone (All these years I never knew it was
parodying Enter The Dragon).

I gotta see this film now.

ron,

if you ever have time to catchup on bruce lee's films, know that he only made 4 complete feature films with the 5th incomplete due to his death. outside of the official ones there are a LOT of fake bruce lee movies. FYI.

When is KFM (or, The Groove Tube, for that matter) coming to HD disc??? ;-)
And, which cover will they use???

The parody is GREAT!!!
Just my favorite part of the movie is "The Shower Scene"!!! :-0

People are posting they are seeing "artifacts" on this transfer.
Anyone know where these artifacts, originate from?
Thanks.
