Does anyone know why sets of seasons 3-5 are on the market, but 1-2 are not?

I'm curious about this series, but I'd like to start from the beginning.

I believe I heard that Universal owns the rights to season 1 and 2. While, the company releasing sets 3-5 own them(I can't remember their name.) This show was one of the original 7 series that Universal announced last year was coming. But, with the sale pending it and everything else was shelved.

ADV owns Seasons 3-5 and if you've never seen the series and want to start from the beginning... wait. The series builds upon itself and if you skip ahead to season 3 you will be confused and have A LOT of questions. Unfortunately, no one knows when Universal will release seasons 1-2 although many hope they will come in 2004.

Knowing Universal, when they finally do come out they will be MSRP $80, while the ADV sets are $40 and nice anamorphic transfers.
