I love going on DVD forums for entertainment and news about my beloved shiny discs, but sometimes I get a little tired/amused at the same phrases being used again and again. Ones like these:
1. Some variation on: "I can't believe (insert movie title) is being released, while (obscure movie title) hasn't been released!"
2. "Now that (movie title) is coming out, I can die happy!" I envy people who write this, as I wish my goals in life could be totally fulfilled by a DVD release.
3. "I'm doing the happy naked dance!" I kind of like that one.
4. "Damn you (Universal, Columbia, MGM, Disney, Paramount, George Lucas, etc.)!!!!"
5. And the eternal classic: "No OAR: No Sale!"

Any others that I haven't mentioned?

Not to look down on those who have mentioned these as I have sometimes thought these myself.

:D No OSL (original sound and language), no sale.

:D (Insert Studio Name) is at it again; when describing any number of things that seem to form a pattern with respect to a particular company.

:D (effectively) Money is better spent on anything but BOSE.

"According to the last (insert studio here) chat........"

I'm guilty of that one.

(Name of movie) has been released for the first time in widescreen, brand-new transfer at a list price of $9.99, but has no extras, not even a trailer! (Name of studio) should be ashamed of giving this great film such shoddy treatment!

In response to a tantalizing array of new releases for the year by XYZ Studio:

"There's nothing on the list that I want"

"Still no Fill In The Blank? C'mon XYZ, what's the hold up?"

"What? Fill In The Blank is being released in mono only? If ever a film needed a 5.1 remix, this is it"

1. New and clever ways to work in a silica reference.

2. Product X is a rip-off considering product Y (unrelated item from a completely different company) costs much less.

3. Why isn't this classic film, which sounded fine in the first place, remixed into 5.1???

",,,this one will be mine!", and variations thereof, upon the announcement of the release of a new title. Cheers.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again...(Insert redundant and therefore useless tidbit here)"

"They'd better have FEATURE ie. anamrphic, DTS, new extras, etc...." I always want to say "Or else... you'll do what exactly...? Not buy it?? :D

During any poll of favorite...whatever, someone always chimes in with "I can't believe someone hasn't mentioned...". :rolleyes:Yeah, but your going to so why bother with this pseudo-"I'm so great and you all are stupid for not thinking of it first" nonsense?

Using the first letters of the title of a movie without first spelling out the title as if everyone should know what THJDKIDJGFNGJCBNEHFJJKGJD is.

Where is season 2 of my favorite "orphaned" TV-on-DVD release? (Twin Peaks, MTM, etc.)

THREAD TITLE: "Project X coming to DVD" (no question mark)
POST CONTENT: "Does anyone know if/when Project X will ever make it to DVD?"

Thanks, Doug, that's another well-known cliche. :)
