This is awesome news and the fact the the second season set will contain the five episode pilot mini-series that started it off ... I'm all geeked up for this one. Now I can add this latest release to my collection.

DuckTales is going by volumes not seasons. Because it only had two seasons (one with 65 episodes and the other with 35 episodes). Glad to see the 5-part pilot on this set. I am glad they included because I know they pondered on releasing a separate set just for the pilot. I hope other multiple part episodes are intact, too.

I wonder if Volume 2 will include the 4-part episode Firefly Fruit Contest (episodes 36-39). Back when volume one was being released, I made predictions:

Great news! Duck Tales is a great show for all ages. I buy 2 sets: one for me and one for my 5-year old granddaugther! I gave her set 1 for Christmas and she just loves it; she has her own portable DVD player.

Actually the pilot episodes for DuckTales and Chip 'n Dale are coming on volume 2 because Disney is going in production order. So Disney is right. As for Darkwing and TaleSpin, I guess Disney is going to please the fans by including them in the first volume because they too were not made first in production order.

Actual production number for these 4 shows:
    DuckTales Pilot: episodes 37-41
Chip 'n Dale Pilot: episodes 41-45
    TaleSpin Pilot: episodes 29-32
Darkwing Duck Pilot: episodes 52 and 53

Pavan - thanks for the great review.

I'm really pleased that they start out this set with the 5-part pilot/movie. I love the villian on this one, and it's great to have Donald included.

I believe the voice casting for the series was top notch. The only slip up, besides not doing more Carl Barks stories and cleaving closer to them, is Launchpad replacing Donald in all the stories...

Other than this, it's as close as we'll ever get to Uncle Carl's Duck World on TV.

    John
