Maybe they found a way of making it work then. There were no DTS PAL LDs released here and to be honest, this is the first time I've heard of any, anywhere.

Anyway, who wants DTS 4% faster ;)

Schlafes Bruder seems to be a very unique LD. Not only was it PAL and DTS but it seems it was a squeeze disc (16:9 anamorphic)!

Watched Happy Gilmore recently, good DTS disk, not an aggressive mix but clear and powerful. Just managed to get a copy of Tommorow Never Dies DTS, I also own the R2 DVD so I can finally compare properly. Really wish I'd picked up The Quest DTS when it was on auction (Funny film... Roger Moore as a pirate king LOL).

I just got a copy of The Mask on DTS ld, and was very impressed with the sound. I'm trying to get a copy of True Lies on DTS LD, but it seems to be pretty elusive.

Ive nearly finished collecting laserdiscs now but have a fair few DTS ones and just wanted to share a few comments about them:

Goldeneye - A much better mix than the R2 DD DVD with decent LFE and generally violent and appropriate mix. A load of extras too.

Tommorow Never Dies - As goldeneye buy IMHO even better mix - superb. No extras though.

Shine - Lovely powerful mix for a film that really deserves better than the 2.0 mix it gets on DVD here in Europe.

Red Corner - Good sound quality, the japanese strings sound particuarly good but a slightly "Lazy" mix.

Happy Gilmore - Better sound quality than the DVD with a similar mix (Might be the same) that occasionally makes more use of the LFE channel.

Kingpin - Good Clear sound but really only uses surrounds to reinforce the soundtrack.

Evita - Destroys the R2 UK DVD (Not that thats hard). Only slight improvements over the DD LD though, lots dynamic of range.

Village of the Damned - Quite an active and nice mix but a little gimmicky and synthetic for my liking.

Still have Mr Nice Guy To Watch and the last disk Im looking for is :

The Quest
